Holland & Barrett set one visual standard across the whole estate
A visual merchandising methodology built with Buying, Marketing and Merchandising, tested in key categories, now rolling out estate-wide.
- Visual merchandising
- Space planning
- 2D/3D design
The problem
After more than 150 years on the high street, Holland & Barrett wanted a modernised in-store experience: consistency and clarity across the customer journey, in a business with all the complexity that heritage brings.
What we did
Our Proposition team applied its Visual Methodology framework, working with Holland & Barrett’s Buying, Marketing and Merchandising departments. Customer insight, store environment analysis and range data were brought together, and 2D and 3D design work set principles at both ends of the scale: macro layouts and department adjacencies down to shelf-level flow. Concepts were tested in key product areas before the wider rollout.
The outcome
Consistent visual principles and fixture display guidelines, now being implemented across the entire UK store estate.
It was great to be involved in a visual merchandising project with such fundamental changes to an already highly established business.
